작품 소개

이번 전시에 선보이는 작품들은 ‘고양이’라는 공통점에서 비롯해 공존이라는 의미까지 확장된 것이 특징이다. 사소한 일상으로부터 영감을 받았으며, 그들이 주는 본질적인 의미로 그 범위를 넓혀 ‘공존’을 표현하고자 한다. 사진 기법에 포커스를 맞추기보다는, 위화감 없이 ‘함께였고, 함께있는’ 환경에 집중하였다.

불투명과 투명의 형식은 우리의 무의식적 시각과 의식적 시선, 또는 불투명으로 세상을 보는 고양이와 투명으로 세상을 보는 인간의 시선 차이를 시각화하기 위해서이다. 배치와 구도는 숲과 나무의 Crown Shyness (각 나무들이 서로 닿지 않고 일정한 거리를 유지하는 현상)에 주목하여 공존의 의미를 재해석하였다. 사진의 실루엣은 4가지의 고양이 형태이며, Crown Shyness의 의미를 접목하여 언밸런스한 배치로 간격을 두어 표현하였다.

作品紹介

本作品は猫という共通点から始まり、共存という意味まで拡張されるのが特徴である。 些細な日常からインスピレーションを受け、彼らが与える本質的な意味までその範囲を広げ、共存を表現したかった。写真技法よりは、違和感なく「ともにいた」「ともにいる」環境にフォーカスを合わせた。

不透明と透明の形式は私たちの無意識的視覚と意識的視線、あるいは、視界が不透明な猫と、透明な人間の視覚の差を見える化するためである。配置と構図には森と木のCrown Shyness ー木々が互いに近づかず、一定の距離を維持する現象ーを参考にし、共存の意味を再解釈してみた。 写真のシルエットは4つの猫の形であり、Crown Shynessの意味を組み合わせてアンバランスな配置で間隔を置いて表現した。

Artists Statement

The works to be represented in this exhibition are characterized by expanding the meaning of coexistence as well as the commonality of cats. It’s inspired by daily life, and We tried to express the coexistence by expanding the scope of the essential meaning they give. Rather than focusing on photographic techniques, it’s more focused on the environment in which it is and was together without any disharmony.

Particularly the form of opaque and transparent is to visualize the difference in perspective between a cat which sees the world opaquely and the human who sees the world transparently. The layout and the structure reinterpreted the meaning of coexistence by paying attention to the crown shyness(a phenomenon observed in some trees,  in which the crowns of fully stocked trees do not touch each other) of forests and trees. The silhouette of the picture is four shapes of cats and the meaning of crown shyness is combined and expressed in unbalanced arrangements.

팀 소개

두 사람은 전시를 통해 인연이 되어 집사라는 공통점을 가지고 콜라보레이션 작품을 창작하게 되었다.

대화를 통해 균형을 맞추는 과정이 마치, Unbalance 하지만 하나의 팀이 된다는 의미로 One : Balance라는 팀명으로 작품에 임했다.

고양이로부터 시작해, 더 큰 의미로 나아가는 공존을 강조하는 바이다.

チーム紹介

二人のアーティストは、展示で初めて知り合い、猫好きという共通点があるため、コラボレーションをするようになった。

コミュニケーションしながらバランスや意見を合わせる作品制作の過程がまるでUnbalanceだったことに着目し、最初異なるように見えた2人が結局1つのチームになったという意味で、One : Balanceというチーム名にした。

猫から始まり、より大きな意味での「共存」を強調したいと思う。

About Artists

Through the exhibition, We knew each other, Our collaborative work started from the common point of cat butler.

The process of balancing through conversation was unbalanced, However, we found out that balancing the harmony is necessary to become a team, so we named our team name as One: Balance.

It emphasizes coexistence that started with cats and moving on to a greater meaning.
